Chippenham Link Transport is a volunteer transport service that offers door to door transport for local people who are unable to access public or private transport. We ask for donations from clients towards the cost of operating our service.
We provide the service for people living in Chippenham, Chippenham Without, Langley Burrell, Sutton Benger and Tytherton. There are approximately 40 LINK Schemes across Wiltshire and Swindon. If you live outside the area covered by Chippenham LINK, please visit the Community First LINK Schemes and Community Transport Directory to find your local transport service.

Volunteering

Do you live in the Chippenham area? Could you spare some time to offer transport to a person in need?
Chippenham LINK Transport is always looking for people to support our service as a volunteer. Volunteering is a great way to stay active, meet new people and help vulnerable and isolated residents in your community. Volunteering roles* include drivers, coordinators and committee members.
We can offer you training, an induction and access to our Volunteer Portal with information and guidance to support you in your volunteer role. We will also reimburse volunteer drivers for mileage and travel expenses incurred through their role as a volunteer.
For more information and an informal chat, please get in touch with us by telephone on 01249 461881 or by email:
You can also complete a Volunteer Enquiry Form on our website.
*Please note, all prospective volunteers will need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

I volunteer because it lets me provide a service that people want and really appreciate. After only four months in the role I can honestly say the job satisfaction and sense of worth is beyond anything I've ever done before. A win win for both clients and driver.

I volunteer to drive for link as it gives me a sense of purpose. I've met lots of lovely clients who all have interesting stories to tell. I'm giving to society as one day I may need to use it myself.
